Community Support Services

“Healthy Ageing” and “Ageing in Place” are the main concerns of our community support services. We encourage elders to develop healthy and balanced life, make good use of their leisure time, and participate actively in different activities to develop their potentials to the fullest. Besides, to actualize the concept of “Ageing in Place”, we provide home care services, nursing and rehabilitation services to assist the needy elders and their families living in the community. With 41 different types of community support services centres, we strive to provide a wide spectrum of quality services to our elders.

Residential Services

"Holistic Care" and "Continuum of Care" are the key focus of our residential care services. Through different types of residential care service which run by our 25 elderly homes and multi-disciplinary staff teams, we provide quality and comprehensive care and rehabilitation services to those elders in need to enable them to enjoy their old age.

東華三院院舍重現香港街道
九巴送贈特製站牌 長者以藝術復刻回憶

 
對於認知障礙症患者而言,院舍裡設計相近的走廊及一式一樣的房門,要找回自己的房間並不容易。有見及此,東華三院賽馬會朗愉居特別聯同長者一起重新佈置走廊,讓長者親自動手在院內打造特色街道,配合院舍「藝術院舍」的服務特色。活動有效加強院舍環境的視覺效果,為認知障礙症長者起導向作用,從而減低遊走風險。該活動亦得到九龍巴士(一九三三)有限公司贊助及捐贈站牌、路綫圖及巴士座椅,讓長者得以重溫深刻回憶。

院舍以香港街道為題,由長者挑選出最具昔日情懷的地方,在院內走廊重現花墟、囍帖街、摩羅街及彌敦道。由主題設計至製作階段,均由院內長者親自參與,過程中職員只作輔助及提供意見,並嘗試加入不同的藝術元素,讓長者以和諧粉彩、禪繞、書法等繪製出各式花朵、古董、名畫、囍帖及金器等。

當中,「彌敦道」一角最能代表香港繁華的一面,店鋪林立、車水馬龍、五光十色的招牌深深烙印在長者腦海中。沿著「彌敦道」走,轉角就會走到佐敦道碼頭,「以前佐敦道碼頭好旺、好多巴士搭架!九龍、新界線都有!」每當經過,院友便會回憶起舊日一家大小坐九巴走訪九龍新界的情境,甚為雀躍。由於受院舍樓底高度的限制,一般的站牌未能放在院內,九巴職員十分熱心,親自到院舍度尺,並製作合適高度的站牌。經過長者、職員及九巴公司的努力,這個獨一無二的「彌敦道」巴士站已成為院舍長者促膝長談的好地方。

東華三院自1870年成立以來,一直秉承「救病拯危、安老復康、興學育才、扶幼導青」的使命和承諾,時至今日,已發展成為全港歷史最悠久及規模最大的慈善服務機構。在過去逾百五年,東華三院在醫療、教育、社會、歷史文化保育及公共服務方面均有長足發展,迎合社會需求,為市民提供收費低廉或免費的優質服務。現時東華三院共有350個服務單位,包括5間醫院、36個中西醫療衞生服務單位、58個教育服務單位、227個安老、青少年及家庭、復康及社會企業/創新的社會服務單位,兩個肩負守護和保育本地歷史文化重任的服務單位,分別為東華三院文物館和東華三院何超蕸檔案及文物中心,以及22個提供殯葬及廟祀服務的公共服務單位。

於花墟走廊內,多位長者親自以和諧粉彩裝飾門框,除美觀外,亦讓長者更容易辨識自己的房間和方向。

       

長者親自以手指畫重現利東街的大囍字擺設。

   

在囍帖街走廊內,長者以輕黏土製作金豬牌及嫁女餅。

   

在摩羅街內,我們以長者的水墨畫粉飾走廊,亦張貼舊圖片以呈現當年街頭攤檔情況,展現出古董集散地的特色。

       

在彌敦道內,設有由九巴捐贈的一組二人座巴士座位以及巴士站牌,配上長者繪畫的各式招牌,讓長者懷緬彌敦道的繁華時光。
