History
The centre was set up in 2008 to provide a wide spectrum of employment services to the service recipients in Shatin and to help the Social Welfare Department to implement the Integrated Employment Assistance Scheme (IEAS). The Social Welfare Department commissioned our centre again in 2012 to carry out Integrated Employment Assistance Programme for Self-reliance (IEAPS) from January 2013 to 31 March 2015.
Objective
- To help the service recipients build up positive self-identity, recognize and accept
their own limitations, and understand the needs of earning a living.
- To mollify the service recipients’ family and living difficulties behind the employment problem in order to eliminate the employment obstacles.
- To enhance the service recipients’ job skills, increase working experience and rebuild the working routine through progressive and flexible job skills training and Work Exposure (WE) Services.
- To assist service recipients to build up support network and continuous self-improvement as well as follow the pace of the society through group activities and social workers’ genuine support.
- To match the resources in labor market effectively.
- To provide free recruitment service for employers.
Facilities
The centre is equipped with employment and family resources corners, computers, internet service, magazines and newspapers.
