Since 2003, our Centre has been providing the Integrated Employment Assistance Project funded by SWD, and the New Dawn Project as well in 2006, serving the unemployed able-bodied CSSA recipients with adequate employment counseling services. In the 2011-12 Policy Agenda, the Chief Executive proposed to review various employment assistance services under the CSSA Scheme to integrate and improve these services, thereby enhancing effectiveness and achieving synergy. In line with this Policy, SWD eventually authorized 26 NGOs to provide employable able-bodied CSSA recipients with a range of one-stop integrated employment assistance services on a family basis, including the WE Services as a result of enhancing the Community Work Scheme. In this regard, our Centre has been one of the Operators of the Project in our agency, providing employment assistance services to the people concerned at Shamshuipo district.

The main objective of the IEAPS is to encourage and assist:

  • The unemployed able-bodied CSSA recipients aged 15 to 59 to secure and sustain full-time paid employment; and
  • Single parents and child carers on CSSA with their youngest child aged 12 to 14 to take up paid employment with working hours of no less than 32 per month.

Our centre has modernized facilities such as Job Corner which provides free online service, job search information and reference book/DVD loan service, computer training room and other activity rooms.
