Introduction

“Endless Care Services” of the Elderly Services Section implemented a three-year “S.E.M.S. End-of-Life Care Services Enhancement Programme” from April 2022 to March 2025, designed a series of life and death education programmes based on four end-of-life care elements related to the elderly namely “Spiritual, Emotional, Medical and Social”. The project provided talks, groups, screenings and workshops to encourage the elderly and carers to discuss and plan ahead for end-of-life care arrangements, promoting a positive perspective on aging.

Besides, in collaboration with the Nethersole School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, accredited by The Nursing Council of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Academy of Social Work, “S.E.M.S. End-of-Life Care Services Enhancement Programme” Professional Training Course were organized, which continuously enhancing the knowledge and service quality of elderly service professions.

• Organizing life and death education programmes to the elderly services units of TWGHs
• Organizing “S.E.M.S. End-of-Life Care Services Enhancement Programme” Professional Training Course
• Providing "resources kit" to service units to set up life and death education corner regularly
