Introduction

On 18 October 2025, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) and the Guangzhou Qichuang Social Work Service Center signed a cooperation agreement on end-of-life care services at the “Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Social Service Cooperation Project Signing Ceremony.” The agreement outlines plans to promote professional exchange among social workers across the Greater Bay Area in the field of end-of-life care. Key initiatives include organizing hybrid training sessions, arranging visits to service facilities in Hong Kong and the Mainland, and providing internship opportunities for Qichuang medical social workers at TWGHs elderly service units. Through these initiatives, the project aims to enhance the professional competence of social workers in life and death education and end-of-life care, while advancing the overall quality of social services across the Greater Bay Area.
