Introduction
With advancing age, older adults experience a gradual decline in muscle mass and strength, which can reduce mobility and increase the risk of falls. This project adopts an “early detection and early intervention” approach, integrating regular screening, targeted exercise programs, and nutritional support. The aim is to help elders preserve muscle strength and physical function, thereby delaying the onset or progression of sarcopenia.
Service Scope
- Professional Training - Provide systematic training for frontline staff and volunteers, equipping them with knowledge and skills in sarcopenia prevention.
- Elderly Risk Screening - Establish a regular screening and assessment mechanism for elders in the community.
- Targeted Exercise and Health Education - Conduct health and nutrition activities, tailored to the elders at risk of sarcopenia. Encourage self-management and promote sustainable healthy lifestyle practices among them.
- Referral Services - Provide referral services to high- risk elders for further diagnosis and treatment.
