Mission and Vision
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals is committed to promoting the development of social enterprises. By employing entrepreneurship and business strategies to establish various social enterprise projects, we provide socially disadvantaged individuals with opportunities for vocational training, enhancing their employability and fostering self-reliance while promoting social harmony.
Our Social Enterprises
Currently, over 20 social enterprise units and projects operating under TWGHs currently offer a wide spectrum of services, including retail, catering, bakery, home and personal care services, photo and video production, vegetable and fruit processing and supply, dishwashing services, and cycling eco-tours. Vocational training and job opportunities are created for socially disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities, low income individuals, single parents, unemployed adults and youth, and those with limited education or job skills. This development helps individuals reach their full potential, gain self-confidence, and achieve self-reliance. Profits generated from these social enterprises are reinvested to ensure sustainable operation and foster social inclusion, ultimately contributing to a harmonious society.
Our Social Innovation
Meanwhile, Tung Wah endeavors to tackle social problems through innovation approaches. To address the housing issues faced by young people, Tung Wah has renovated and remodelled one of its properties, blending traditional features with modern design. The first "Fortune Loft" - Youth Co-living Space was launched to encourage young residents to communicate, exchange ideas, and support one another. We also established the “Fortune Library” as a resource-sharing and mutual-support platform, facilitating the sharing of resources, skills, and time among community members, ultimately interconnecting societal strengths. Additionally, Tung Wah launched "The Oasis Youth Co-working Space" which provides desks for young entrepreneurs and start-ups with business support services at concessionary rent. This initiative aims to encourage youth engagement in social innovation and enterprise, helping them pursue their career aspirations.
