History
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Wong Woon Tei Home for the Elderly was established on 4 March 1987. In recognition of a generous donation of $440,000 from the Fong Shu Fook Tong Foundation towards the Development Fund of Tung Wah, the Tung Wah Board of Directors decided to name the home after the late mother of Mr. Fong Yun-wah, MBE, JP, Chairman of the Foundation, as the "Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Wong Woon Tei Hostel for the Elderly". On 1 March 2000, the Home was renamed "Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Wong Woon Tei Home for the Elderly". In accordance with the Government's policy and the needs of the society, our Home was approved by the Social Welfare Department to commence care and attention home providing continuum of care service starting from 16 March 2006 .
Objective
The Home is committed to providing quality service in accommodation, personal care and nursing care to elderly who have weak health and have limited self-care ability. Through the provision of professional services, diversified activities and adequate facilities under a homely environment, the residents are believed to receive holistic care by leading a meaningful and dignified living in the Home.

Environment
The Home is located at the public housing estate, with established community facilities including market, park, shopping centres. The location is very convenient which takes only a 5-minute-walk to the MTR station nearby.
Bedrooms
There are 19 residential units (bedrooms) in total and each unit accommodates 3 to 5 residents, with self-contained toilet and bathroom.
Other facilities
Sitting room, dining room, medical room, nurse duty room, physiotherapy room, conference room, TV room, kitchen and laundry.
Service Recipients
Elders aged 65 or above who lacks self-care ability due to poor health or illness, free from contagious disease and mentally suitable for communal living.
Those aged between 60-64 with proven needs can also apply. |
