History

The Jockey Club Yee Yeung Care and Attention Home, which commenced operation in April 1998, has a capacity of 57 residential care places for the visually impaired elderly. Elderly people aged 60 or above being certified by ophthalmologists with visual impairment are eligible to apply for the service through the integrated family service centres and medical social services of the Social Welfare Department and other welfare agencies. The fee is charged in accordance with the standardized rate set by the Social Welfare Department.

Objective

We pledge to provide a safe and comfortable living environment to the visually impaired residents. Services provided included basic nursing care, personal care, orientation & mobility training service, physiotherapy and occupational therapy services. Through counseling, group work, social and recreational activities, residents are encouraged to have more participation in the Home life, closer integration with the community and to enjoy a happy and dignified life at an advanced age.
