Yau Pok Road Light Public Housing
Project BackgroundThe "Light Public Housing" initiative is a large-scale social project by the Hong Kong SAR government, which has significant social functions and values. It aims to utilize social resources to assist disadvantaged communities and narrow the wealth gap, striving to "solve the livelihood issues" and provide practical assistance to those in greatest need. The government's determination and execution in addressing housing issues reflect its commitment to resolving urgent housing and living problems faced by the public. Yau Pok Road Light Public Housing is managed and operated by "Pioneer Management Limited - Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Joint Venture," which is responsible for operations, management (such as security and cleaning), and daily maintenance. It will provide residents with suitable basic services and facilities, including retail shops, launderettes, study rooms, activity rooms, and community services, along with social work services. The project will offer approximately 2,150 units, set to be available for occupancy in the first quarter of 2025. Project ContentThe Tung Wah Group of Hospitals will provide social service support for the Yuen Long Yau Pok Road Light Public Housing project to help residents adapt to their new lives and offer various related assistance. TWGHs will focus in 5 key areas : employment support, services for the elderly and disabled person, services for children, adaption and community development, as well as other living support services. These services aim to improve the living environment and quality of life for residents, promote the well-being of families, help them overcome challenges, and improve their overall quality of life.
