History

Situated at Fong Shu Chuen Social Service Building in Shaukeiwan, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen Care and Attention home is in close proximity to MTR station and bus terminal. In addition to the Lotteries Fund Grant, a generous donation from Fong Shu Fuk Tong Trust Fund was received in support of part of the capital cost of the Home. In recognition of the Fong's family's benevolence, the Home is named after the late Mr. Fong Shu Chuen as "Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen Care and Attention Home" which has commenced service operation since October 1999.

Objective

The Home is committed to providing quality service in accommodation, personal and nursing care to elderly who suffer from weak health and limited self-care ability. With the provision of professional service, the residents are to receive adequate care and diversified activities in a homely environment by leading a meaningful and dignified living under a holistic care approach.

Facilities

Environment
The Home is located on 4 consecutive floors (2/F to 5/F) in Fong Shu Chuen Social Service Building.

Bedrooms
Each dormitory bedroom can accommodate 6 to 7 residents in a shared room with a self-contained washroom and bathroom.

Other Facilities
There are living rooms, sitting rooms, dining rooms, interview rooms, activity rooms, reminiscence corner, and multi-sensory room to meet with residents' both social and individual needs. A flat-roof garden on 4/F is to provide an outdoor environment for residents to have pleasures in pot-planting or enjoying tea time. The nurse stations, physiotherapy room, occupational therapy room, central kitchen and laundry room are well equipped with adequate facilities to ensure the comprehensive care for the residents.

Service Users/Eligibility Criteria

Elders who are aged 65 or above*; lack of self-care ability due to poor health or chronic illnesses; mentally suitable for communal living; and not suffering from contagious disease will be assessed for admission according to the Standardized Care Need Assessment Mechanism of SWD.

Those elders aged between 60-64 with proven needs can also apply for admission.
