History

TWGHs Chan Feng Men Ling Day Care Centre for the Elderly commences service on March 2012. Besides the Lotteries Fund, we have to express our thankfulness to Ms. Chan Feng Men Ling for her donation in support of the capital cost of the Centre.In recognition of Ms. Chan’s benevolence, the centre is named as “ TWGHs Chan Feng Men Ling Day Care Centre for the Elderly “.

Objective

We provide daily activities to the client with the purpose to relieve the caring pressure of the carer, thereby allowing the client to continue to live with their family at home. In view of the ageing society, it is estimated that there will be more than 200,000 people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. The Multi-sensory room and Wandering path are specifically installed to address them. Appropriate care plans are customer designed through various training and activities to enhance the client’s self-esteem and confidence in order to slow down the recession speed.

Facilities

Our center adopt the “ Family oriented” approach, the furniture and fixture are sophisticatedly designed to creative a warm and cheerful atmosphere. Wandering path, Multi-sensory room, Nursing room, Exercise room, Living room, Interview room and Bathroom, as well as physiotherapy and occupational therapy equipment are focusing on the rehabilitation need of the client.

Service Recipients

  • Elders
    • Aged 60 or above living in the community and not receiving residential care service;
    • Assessed to be of moderate or severe level of impairment by the Standardised Care Need Assessment Mechanism for Elderly Services and suitable for day care services; and
    • Having no family member or lacking the care from family members during daytime.
