History
Wong Cho Tong Hostel is one of the service units in Wong Cho Tong Social Service Building which was established in March 2001. The Building is named after benevolent Mr. Wong Cho-tong in appreciation of his generous donation of $16.5 million towards the Buildings capital cost.
Objective
Wong Cho Tong Hostel provides home living for persons who are moderately intellectual disabled , and develop their social skills and abilities to live independently in the community.
Facilities
- Large dining room and living rooms;
- All bedrooms have en suite facilities specially designed and catered for the disabled;
- Sport and Rehabilitation equipment aims to strengthen members' health;
- Activity room and Computer Corner for leisure activities.
Service Recipients
Eligibility for the Service
Moderately mentally handicapped persons who are:
- aged 15 or above;
- physically and mentally suitable for group living;
- physically healthy with no active infectious disease; and
- actively occupied in or being arranged for admission to day placement.
