History
In relieving financial stress of the deprived elderly and families, T.W.G.Hs had established ‘Food for all’ food assistance service for providing short term food assistance to the deprived people in 2009. Afterwards it is further observed that most of their income has been spent in fixed daily living expenditures, such as rent, utilities, transportation and school fees. As a result, the deprived elderly and families would limit the meal cost and affect their basic needs of food security. Also, due to lack of kitchen facilities at the subdivided flat families, cooking is not allowed and they can just rely on dry food. T.W.G.Hs is going to establish a new services centre at Pak Tin Estate to provide “Food for all Kitchen” for providing discounted nutritious hot meals for them in order to relieve their financial stress.
Objective
- Provision of Community Kitchen to provide hot and nutritious meals for the deprived elderly and families
- Provision of the Third – Aged Volunteers services to cultivate young old talents to serve the community
