History

Since October 2010, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals CROSS Center –Central, Western, Southern and Islands Office has begun to provide one-spot anti-drug service, i.e. from anti-drug prevention services to treatment services for psychotropic substance abusers, at Central, Western, Southern and Islands District (including Tung Chung, Tai O, Cheung Chau, Lamma Island and Ping Chau) with the financial support from Social Welfare Department.

Objective

  • To assist the Psychotropic Substance Abusers (PSAs) to quit the drug-taking behavior by counseling service with community medical services.
  • To provide emotional support for the family members of PSAs and encourage the family members participating actively into the rehabilitation process of PSAs.
  • To assist the at-risk people's to build up self-confident, enhance their Adversity Quotient, lead a healthy life and abstain from drug abuse.
  • To hold anti-drug public education programmes and assist youth and the community to prevent the drug problem from spreading.
  • To organize training programmes for youth workers, teachers or other related professions to enhance their capacity on early identification and handling of adolescents' drug abuse problems.
