History
TWGHs Mr and Mrs Au Wai Lam Memorial Day Care Centre for the Elderly commenced service in June 2014. TungWah is very fortunate to have received donation from Au’s family in support of the capital cost of the Centre. In recognition of their benevolence, the centre is named “Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Mr & Mrs Au Wai Lam Memorial Day Care Centre for the Elderly.”
Objective
The Centre adopts the “Holistic Care” approach. Individualized care plan will be formulated for each elder by multi-professionals. Through diversified trainings, activities and fully equipped facilities under a comfort and joyful environment, the elder members are believed to receive all-rounded care by leading to a meaningful and dignified old age.
Service Recipients
- Elderly persons
- Aged 60 or above;
- assessed and recommended for Community Care
Services or Residential Care Services under the
Standardised Care Need Assessment Mechanism for
Elderly Services;
- living in the community and not receiving residential care
service;
- whose carers are unable to provide full-time care; and
- physically and mentally suitable for communal living.
- Carers of the attendees of Day Care Centres / Units for the Elderly
Facilities
The Centre is designed with a comfort and joyful environment to meet the needs of elder members. The air-conditioned premises consist of Wandering path, Multi-sensory room, Nursing room, Physiotherapy treatment and exercise room, Living room, Interview room and Bathroom.
