History
Elders and persons with disabilities, who are residing in Residential Care Homes for the Elderly (RCHEs) and Residential Care Homes for the Disabled (RCHDs), are susceptible to infection owing to their older age and the vulnerability of their disabilities.
In order to enhance the service quality of private and self-financing RCHEs and RCHDs, the Social Welfare Department (SWD) has invited NGOs to provide the Visiting Medical Practitioner (VMP) Service for private and self-financing RCHEs and RCHDs in 2018.
TWGHs Lok Kin Primary Health Care Service was awarded by SWD to serve all private and self-financing RCHEs and RCHDs in Central & Western, Southern and Islands on October 2018.
Objective
The service aims to provide free on-site primary medical care and support to residents of private and self-financing RCHEs and RCHDs in Central & Western, Southern and Islands; to promote proactive management of seasonal influenza and other episodic illnesses for improvement of their general health condition.
