Parents Academy
HistoryFunded by the HSBC 150th Anniversary Charity Programme, Parents Academy is a five-year project commencing in October 2016. Our mission is supporting parents in developing positive parent-child relationship and healthy family environment for children’s growth. Parents Academy will mobilize over 65 kindergarten, nursery schools and primary schools to deliver a new model of a community-based, multi-sectoral and multi-media parenting programme. ObjectiveWarm and loving parent-child relationship gives a child’s strong foundation for building confidence, resilience and forming healthy relationships in adolescence and adulthood. The regulation of emotion is especially critical in parent-child relationships. Parental emotions affect children’s development and children’s emotions affect parental behaviors. Our parenting education will emphasize on Relationship Building and Emotion Education along the life span of our children in order to support parents in this most rewarding but challenging parenting journey.
