History

The centre commenced operation in Kwong Wah Hospital in 1988 as Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kwan Fong Child Care Centre, a pioneer occasional child care centre for infants to children aged 6 in Hong Kong. It was named after a donation from the Kwan Fong Charitable Foundation. It was relocated to Chuk Yuen Estates (South) in 1995 and became an aided day creche. In response to the service demand in the community, it was converted into an aided combined child care centre in 1996. With the implementation of Harmonization of Pre-primary Services, the centre was registered under Education Bureau as Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre, namely Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kwan Fong Nursery School, with effect from 1 September 2005.
