Zonta Club of Kowloon Nursery School

History

Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Zonta Club of Kowloon Nursery School commenced operation in 2001 to provide child care and educational services for children aged 2 to 6 in Tin Shui Wai District. With the implementation of Harmonization of Pre-primart Services, the centre was registered under Education Bureau as Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre, namely Tung Wah Group of Hopsitals Zonta Club of Kowloon Nursery School, with effect from 1 September 2005.

Objective

• To develop and enhance children's social, intellectual, emotional, language, arts and creative and physical abilities through a broad, stimulating and well balanced curriculum and activities
• Whole Language Approach and Thematic Approach are adopted for developing children’s language ability and enhance their learning potential
• To provide safe and supportive environment, allowing children to develop their self-concept, and hence the positive attitude of respect and acceptance towards oneself and others
• To foster positive learning attitude of children
• To prepare children for smooth transition to primary schooling
• To advise parents/ carers on child care and rearing related matters
  

Facilities

The nursery school has floor area of 625 sq.m., which includes activities rooms, indoor playground, music room, kitchen, kid's lavatory, supervisor room, staff room, laundry and store room, etc.

Each activity room provides diverse age-appropriate learning corners, such as dramatic play, reading and writing, art and crafts, construction play, computer program, sand and water, etc.

Service Recipients

• Children aged 2 - 6
• Priority placement would be granted to families with social needs referred by Social Welfare Department.
